| Why? |
As a result of participation in this activity, learners will be able to:
- Identify and discuss recent developments in the national physician reentry initiatives and policies
- Define the terminology related to physician reentry and remedial education
- Illustrate the characterstics of the physician who chooses to reenter practice
- Outline the challenges and opportunities that currently face physician reentry
- Distinguish the types of assessment and how they can be used to optimize reentry educational programs
- Recognize and discuss the stigma that can be associated with remedial education from the physician's point of view
- Discuss the perspective of state medical board's viewpoint on reentry
- Examine and list the diversity of state regulations
- Describe reentry programs that are currently in place
- Review the role of assessment as it relates to physician reentry
- Establish tools that can be used to assess physicians who want to reenter medicine
- Develop relationships that will allow opportunities to collaborate and design research projects in the field of physician reentry
