| Why? |
By the end of the education program, participants will:
- Discuss factors that impact patient safety as it applies to physician assessment, including:
- An understanding of systems issues and how they impact medical care.
- How communication, physician behaviors, and local systems factors can affect physician performance and patient care.
- Clinical diagnosis reasoning, including educational strategies used to promote and enhance it.
- An understanding of diagnostic error and factors that contribute to it.
- Understanding current terminology/taxonomy used in the field of clinical decision making and diagnostic error.
- Discuss clinical decision-making and other relevant topics in small group sessions.
- Collaborate and strengthen relationships with colleagues in the area of physician assessment and professional enhancement.
- Learn about research and other projects being undertaken by members of CPE.
- Navigate the recently updated CPE web site, including how to access the newly formed repository of shared documents and tools that can be used and accessed by CPE members.
