University of British Columbia The Clinical Competence Program (CPP) is a Level III MEPP assessment of clinical skills and knowledge. The purpose of the CCP is to offer a mechanism to the College of Physicians and Surgeons of B.C. (CPSBC) for identifying strengths and weaknesses in physicians with identified performance problems, and for recommending focused educational remedies as needed. The program is also a resource to practicing family physicians/general practitioners in British Columbia for CPD/CME. The program is viewed as a collaborative effort of the professional, licensing and training bodies in British Columbia who have complementary responsibilities for the development and maintenance of physician competence. The CCP is a program initiated by the profession for the profession, in contrast to an external system imposed upon the profession. The program’s focus is on the knowledge and skills needed for general/family practice. www.health-disciplines.ubc.ca/ccp |
